Getting set up with SouthernMED as your pediatrician is simple!
If you are pregnant and you would like your baby to become our patient after they are born, all you will need to do is to let your OB or the hospital where you are delivering know that your child will be our patient. They will notify us once the baby is born.
We love partnering with expecting mothers.
If you give birth at Lexington Medical Center, Palmetto Health Baptist, or Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, one of our providers will visit you and your baby in the hospital and they will let you know when to make your first visit to our office. If you give birth at any other hospital, one of the hospital’s providers will see you while you are still in the hospital, and they will let you know when to come to our office after being discharged.
Did you know that we offer lactation services for our breastfeeding mamas? Find out more here.

From the day I gave birth to my son and meeting Nurse Practitioner, Jocelyn Snider, I've been extremely comfortable with my son's care. Once he went for his well check and we finally met Dr. Carter. I became completely satisfied! The entire staff at SouthernMED – South Lake are very professional, inviting, caring and loving. There is no other facility I'd trust with my son's health care.
