Dr. Karen Connelly

Dr. Karen Connelly was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC. After graduating from Wade Hampton Academy, she furthered her education at the College of Charleston, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then earned her Doctorate of Medicine at The Medical University of South Carolina. She completed a residency at MUSC Children’s Hospital, serving as co-chief resident her third year. She worked in private practice for over 20 years before coming to SouthernMED Pediatrics.

Dr. Connelly is married and has two children. She and her husband are members of Northside Baptist Church, where they enjoy mission trips with family and church to the Dominican Republic.
