Virginia grew up in Chattanooga, TN and always knew she wanted to go into pediatric nursing. She received her BSN in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. After graduating, she worked as an RN in a Level IV surgical NICU in Atlanta, GA at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She then moved to Charleston, SC to complete her DNP in Pediatric Primary Care at MUSC. She worked as a nurse for children with disabilities and complex medical problems while completing her degree. She and her husband live in Columbia, SC with their two dogs Louie (pug) and Blue (lab).
