Dr. Susan Claytor-Caldwell MD

Dr. Claytor-Caldwell earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and her medical degree from MUSC. She completed her pediatric training at Palmetto Richland Memorial Children’s Hospital, where she served as chief resident. Her clinical interests include multiple-birth families, adolescent medicine, and ADHD. She also enjoys medical missions, gardening, and beekeeping.

Bio and Work History

Dr. Claytor-Caldwell earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina and her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her pediatric training at Palmetto Richland Memorial Children’s Hospital, where she served as chief resident.

A board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Claytor-Caldwell has participated in the pediatric training program at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital for more than three decades as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics. Her clinical interests include multiple-birth families, adolescent medicine, ADHD, well-child visits, and routine pediatric conditions.

Outside of work, Dr. Claytor-Caldwell enjoys spending time with her husband, five daughters—including twins—and seven grandchildren. Her other interests include church, medical missions, gardening, and beekeeping.

She has two children, Dylan and Zoey, and enjoys traveling, SCUBA diving, running, and cooking in her free time.
