Our office in Clemson, SC opened in November 2020 under the care of Dr. Ashley Carter. Located in Patrick Square, our office serves patients from birth through adolescence and accepts most major insurance types, including SCDHHS Medicaid and all SCDHHS Medicaid managed care organizations.
The Clemson area is one that is dear to many providers at SouthernMED, but especially to Dr. Carter who attended Clemson University for her undergraduate degree before going on to graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital in 2013, after which she joined our Lexington office. In 2020, she relocated to the upstate and SouthernMED is glad to go with her. When asked about what excites her about the Clemson area, Dr. Carter shared, “I’ve been a Clemson fan ever since I was little and I bleed orange! I spent my college years in Clemson and I’m really excited to get back up there. I think it will be a great area to practice in and a fun place to be. It’s God’s country!”
